Alexandra Wellness Hotel

Apologies- this will be long! The hotel rooms are super small, so don’t bother bringing large suitcases as two carry on bags are hard to fit. With the chair pulled all the way in by the desk, there is no space between bed and chair to walk to other bed. That’s how small the room is. Broken phone(no signal) so you have run to the lobby for everything. I did at first to ask questions and then gave up as we were tired. The thermostat is broken so the temperature rose to 23 C within minutes we arrived and we did so after 9pm so you can imagine it was quite warm at night. Pictured photos right before I went to bed, but I could see the temp over 24 C right before I turned off the lights. There are two glasses with bottle opener on the desk but not even a single bottle of water. When I asked whether they provide water, they told me I can buy some so I did! No coffee pot or tea pot. Only hand soap dispenser available by the sink/shower and no shampoo or shower gel but you do get a disposable shower cap. What a disaster! Basic necessities are missing. What’s worst is that the socket in the bathroom was completely EXPOSED WITH HANGIG WIRES which is a huge safety hazard in wet area. The door to the other joining room was open so the people next door could get in at any point in time. This is security hazard. I rested my back on it for a second and it popped open! They charged us $150 for a night(70 Euro a person) when this place is maybe worth $50 total. The only reason we came here was because we could not find an empty hotel nearby and it was getting late. I regret not driving back home for another 90 minutes! There is absolutely NO wellness about it! My advice is not to come here but if you end up here do not pay ahead and pay when checking out so you can negotiate pricing. Because I paid at the checkin in good faith they told me I could not get any refund and checked with manager(Rastislav Masiar) who first offered 10% back but then retracted it and said they can offer 5% back for future stay credit only. I told them I’d never be back so that didn’t work for me and they said they couldn’t do anything for me then. During this trip I spent several nights in different hotels between Poland and Slovakia and chose variety of comfort. I paid 150 a night in Szczawnica for a 5 star hotel with modern facilities, superb spa, and great food. This hotel is 1 star in comparison yet charges same. Another hotel I used was in Nowy Targ for $50 a night and it was bigger and better than this one, providing water in the room and much better service. Please save yourself stress and look elsewhere. For context I’m an experienced traveller having been to over 40 countries and stayed at variety hotels from India, through China and places like Maldives, Hawaii, Peru, Thailand and more.
